Diabetes Awareness Month

That the Parliament notes November 2021 is Diabetes Awareness Month; acknowledges that 14 November marked World Diabetes Day and that this year it commemorated the centenary of the discovery of insulin; understands that over 312,000 people in Scotland who live with diabetes; notes that there has been a huge leap in technology in recent years, such as advanced continuous blood glucose monitoring systems that allow people with it to live healthier and longer lives, and congratulates the work of charities, such as Diabetes UK and JDRF, which raise awareness of the condition and provide support for people living with it.
