Congratulations to Skilz Academy

  • Submitted by: Maurice Golden, North East Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 28 October 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01780

That the Parliament commends the Arbroath-based charity, Skilz Academy, as a UK finalist in the Persimmons Homes Building Futures fund; understands that Skilz Academy has played a vital role in helping deprived and vulnerable children, aged three to 18, in providing free sports, physical activities, creative arts and recreation; notes that, if successful, Skilz Academy could win a cash prize of up to £100,000, which would be used to upgrade the astroturf facility at Arbroath High School, for which Skilz Academy recently secured a 99-year lease; welcomes any such move given what it sees as the lack of any accessible astroturf facility in Arbroath, and wishes everyone involved the best of luck in securing funding.
