East Dunbartonshire Council and Unite Hospitality's Safe Home Campaign

  • Submitted by: Ross Greer, West Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 30 September 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01414

That the Parliament notes that East Dunbartonshire Council's Licensing Board has recently brought in additional criteria when considering late opening applications from licensed premises; welcomes that these criteria include late night transport arrangements for employees; notes that this is expected to significantly benefit the safety and wellbeing of hospitality workers, particularly women, who often cannot afford, or access, safe transport options late at night; congratulates Unite Hospitality on this significant win for their Safe Home campaign, and encourages all other local authorities to introduce similar criteria.
