That the Parliament commends Aberdeen City Council for working with the UK Government to relocate more than 100 people from Afghanistan; understands that Aberdeen City Council, working together with the Home Office, will provide services and support to relocated families to help them build new lives in Aberdeen; gives thanks to the UK Armed Forces personnel involved in Operation Pitting, the evacuation effort, which, it understands, brought more than 15,000 people from Afghanistan safely to the UK; notes with deep concern the current situation in Afghanistan, and what it sees as the threat to life, liberty and equality; welcomes the relocated families to Aberdeen, and wishes them the very best for their futures.
