  • Submitted by: Clare Adamson, Motherwell and Wishaw, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 27 July 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00758

That the Parliament commends the recent inductees to the Services to Community section of the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame; understands that the Services to Community Award, launched in 2015, and organised by Hands Up for Trad, recognises individuals who work tirelessly to help their community and enrich the lives of others through selfless service or charitable work; recognises that the award-winners teach music, organise classes, run clubs and festivals, publish music or magazines and make life better for people learning traditional music; applauds Hands Up for Trad for its continued efforts to protect and promote Scottish traditional music as an important part of Scotland’s cultural heritage, as a far-reaching influence on modern music, and a hugely beneficial social activity; congratulates all the award-winners, and wishes the new inductees and the team at Hands Up for Trad all the very best for the future.
