People in Scotland Encouraged to Participate in Endometriosis UK Survey

  • Submitted by: Monica Lennon, Central Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 08 July 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00629

That the Parliament welcomes the Scottish National Party manifesto commitment to reduce the average time to diagnose endometriosis from 8.5 years to under one year by the end of the current parliamentary session; agrees with Endometriosis UK that the realisation of this commitment would improve the diagnosis and care of the one in 10 women, and those assigned female at birth, living in Scotland with the condition; believes that the Scottish Government’s forthcoming Women’s Health Plan has the potential to improve healthcare services for women but must be adequately resourced across the country; notes that Endometriosis UK is currently carrying out a UK-wide survey on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people with endometriosis to capture their experience of seeking NHS care during the pandemic and whether the pandemic has affected their endometriosis, and encourages people in Scotland to take part in the 20-minute survey which closes at 11.45pm on 15 July 2021.
