  • Submitted by: Finlay Carson, Galloway and West Dumfries, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 10 June 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00338

That the Parliament welcomes the major milestone news, that more than 100,000 people living in Dumfries and Galloway have now received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination; notes that nearly 80,000 people have also received their second dose; praises the remarkable efforts and commitment of all those involved, including NHS Dumfries and Galloway staff and volunteer vaccinators, as well as the enormous help provided in the roll-out programme by the UK Armed Forces; recognises that the vaccination campaign continues to power on, and that the region is now well above the national average; urges those aged under 40 who are being asked to come forward to do so, while also encouraging everyone aged 18-29 to register online by visiting nhsinform.scot/under30register; praises the marvellous team spirit within communities, in helping each other throughout this testing time, and hopes this will continue in the coming months ahead as we seek to return to some form of normality.
