That the Parliament recognises the positive impact of the staff and volunteers based at the Inchgarth Community Centre in Garthdee, Aberdeen; understands that, since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the centre has adjusted its services from providing 170 activity sessions a week to a project catering for 15 communities in the south of Aberdeen; notes that priority was given to supporting vulnerable residents via cash donations for items such as food, utilities, laptops, white goods, sanitary products, travel costs, hot meals, pet food and many others; recognises that the team, consisting of five staff and 115 volunteers, helped an estimated 3,000 people through the Covid-19 support project, including 230 families who are registered to the centre’s own foodbank; also understands that the project received approximately £300,000 through funding bodies that has helped vulnerable people, sustained staffing posts and supported other vital support services and providers; commends Paul O’Connor, chairman of the centre, the staff and volunteers, and wishes everyone and their service users every success in the future.
