That the Parliament congratulates all those who were involved in the Environmental Placement Programme (EPP) over the last year, which offers placements to graduates to allow them to promote behavioural change in relation to climate change within a professional environment; recognises that the EPP Awards 2020 took place on 23 February 2021 in a virtual capacity and that the EPP and the Awards Ceremony are organised by Bright Green Business; congratulates this year’s winner, Rowan Stanforth, who won the award of ‘Most Enterprising Environmental Intern 2020’, and also the runner up, Kathleen Painter; recognises that these winners have gone the extra mile in finding innovative routes to making their host organisations even more environmentally friendly; notes that the EPP has placed over 1,000 students into organisations across Scotland and that this has generated long term employment for young people, with 60% of EPP graduates being hired by their host organisation following their placement last year; highlights that in the face of a global Climate Emergency, it is vital to have innovative thinkers who are minded towards how we can make Scotland more environmentally friendly; thanks all organisations who have offered placements, and understands that the EPP welcome any businesses who wish to meet environmental goals to get involved in the scheme; congratulates the EPP on another successful year of placements, and celebrates all those who were involved with the programme this year who have worked towards a more sustainable Scotland.
