Tesco Installing Changing Places Toilets

  • Submitted by: Mary Fee, West Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 22 February 2021
  • Motion reference: S5M-24186

That the Parliament recognises Tesco for its commitment to introducing changing places toilets to its larger stores across Scotland; notes that six of its 100 changing places toilets in the UK are in Scotland, which are located in its Annan, Lockerbie, Fraserburgh and Wick superstores and its Ayr and Port Glasgow "Extra" stores; considers that this is an important change that ensures that its stores are more accessible for all of its customers and better suits the needs of disabled customers and their carers; believes that these facilities can help to boost tourism in these areas as many families with disabled members are limited in the range of places that they can visit due to no facilities being made available; acknowledges that, as more Tesco stores are built and refurbished, there is an expectation that more changing places toilets will open up across Scotland, and encourages other businesses to invest money into the creation of changing places toilets at their locations.
