Congratulations to Craig Muirhead and the Lockdown Piping Club

That the Parliament congratulates the former Red Hot Chilli Piper and Bannockburn piper, Craig Muirhead, on the establishment of the Lockdown Piping Club; notes that the project has offered free weekly chanter classes to hundreds of beginners throughout the COVID-19 lockdowns, and is broadcast through YouTube Live; understands that the lessons are suitable for both children and adults, and comprise of a block of six lessons on the basics of playing the chanter; recognises that Craig’s career with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers has led to him sharing a stage with Rod Stewart, Lulu and Amy Macdonald, as well as playing in front of Prince Charles at the opening ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games; notes that such initiatives provide an easy way for people of all ages to embrace traditional music, and wishes the project the very best of success in the coming months.
