Knightsridge Primary School Wins Scottish Book Trust Reading Award

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils and staff at Knightsridge Primary School on being awarded Scottish Book Trust's Gold Reading Accreditation; acknowledges that it is the first primary school in West Lothian to be awarded this accolade and one of only two primary schools in Scotland; understands that the school has been on its reading journey for several years and worked in partnership with the Scottish Book Trust initially, through the First Minister's Reading Challenge, in which it won an award for promoting a reading culture, in addition to winning the Education Scotland National Literacy Award for excellence in literacy, and acknowledges the efforts of the teaching staff and pupils, particularly Pat Fisher from Carmondean Library Services who worked tirelessly to provide support and encouragement to the children and their parents.
