North East Fife Community Hub

  • Submitted by: Willie Rennie, North East Fife, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 01 December 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-23546

That the Parliament congratulates the North East Fife Community Hub on being awarded a grant from the Scottish Land Fund, which will allow it to purchase the St David’s Centre; notes that this is in addition to funds that will allow for a refurbishment of the building; welcomes that this will mean that the Storehouse foodbank, operated by the Vineyard Church, will have a permanent home alongside the Clothesline clothing bank, which will facilitate the beginning of a one-stop-shop; notes also that The Café will be able to re-open as restrictions ease and that support networks that operate from the hub can return as restrictions lift, with more added, and that space will be available to rent on a short- or long-term basis, and acknowledges the important ongoing role of the community hub and its contribution to the local community.
