That the Parliament recognises the campaign, No Address in the Press, which is being led by Families Outside and aims to change legislation to ensure that the personal details and home addresses of families of defendants are not legally allowed to be published in the press; notes that these families often face a wave of abuse and intimidation when their addresses are published; acknowledges that the West Scotland region has some of the highest imprisonment rates in the country and believes that this proposed change in legislation would improve the wellbeing of countless families across the area, and considers that this change would strengthen the rights of children and their families across Scotland by giving them more protection and stability at a tumultuous time.
