Bucksburn's H&S Milne and Sons Won't Let COVID-19 Stop it Supporting Schools

  • Submitted by: Mark McDonald, Aberdeen Donside, Independent.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 28 April 2020
  • Motion reference: S5M-21589

That the Parliament congratulates the Bucksburn-based butcher, H&S Milne and Sons, on its crowdfunding drive to support three schools in the area; applauds this initiative, which, as a result of the COVD-19 outbreak, will replace its annual donation of burgers and sausages for community fundraising events; understands that fun days held at Bucksburn Academy, Stoneywood Primary and Brimmond Primary usually bring in vital money, and that their cancellation will be felt throughout the community; notes that the funds being raised will allow the Academy to purchase yearbooks for its S6 students and fund the running of the school’s Additional Support Needs Wing minibus; acknowledges that the remaining cash will be split between the three schools; commends Kenny Milne for taking these steps to ensure that the children won’t go without, and celebrates everyone participating in this fundraising effort.
