That the Parliament notes with serious concern the most recent ISD statistics, which it considers show a dramatic rise in the number of suicides in Scotland in 2018; understands that there were 784 probable suicides in Scotland in 2018, which is an increase of 15% from 2017; recognises, with grave alarm, the increase of 50% in the number of suicides among the 15 to 24 age group, from 64 in 2017 to 96 in 2018; considers these figures startling, and hopes that the Scottish Government and the UK Government respond with urgency to these most recent figures.
