That the Parliament congratulates Angus Pelham Burn, who is from Kincardine O’Neil, on being appointed an MBE by The Queen in recognition of his devotion to the community in Aberdeenshire; notes that Angus has held a number of posts, most recently as the chair of Aberdeen Asset Management, and that previously he served as a director at Bank of Scotland, the chair of both Scottish Provident and the Aberdeen Airport Consultative Committee, and was the Grampian regional councillor for the Banchory area for 27 years; commends his efforts for channelling his passion for Greenland and the Arctic, which have led to his establishment of the Pelham Burn Studentship in the Anthropology of the North at the University of Aberdeen; understands that this has allowed 13 academics to research communities such as Inuit people, and thanks Angus for his many decades of dedication to public and community life.
