Mar Orienteering Wins Aberdeenshire Sports Team of the Year

That the Parliament congratulates the Mar Orienteering Club, which is based in Deeside, on being awarded Sports Team of the Year 2018 at the 2019 Aberdeenshire Sports Council Awards; commends the club's success in hosting the British Championships in Balmoral, as well as school training events and 20 other regional events in the last year; recognises the positive impact that it considers this will have on introducing young sporting talent to orienteering and contributing to the physical education and health of young people as well as the impact of hosting the championships on showcasing Balmoral and the surrounding areas to competitors from across the UK, and wishes the club another successful season in 2019.
