That the Parliament notes that a trial launch of Your Woodside Pantry, which is a food poverty scheme run by the Fersands & Fountain Community Project in partnership with the Community Food Initiative North East and FareShare, will take place on 20 December 2018 at the Woodside Community Centre in Aberdeen; understands that it will be the first of its kind in Scotland and will see residents pay a £3 joining fee and then spend £2.50 per week to purchase 10 items; believes that it will initially have capacity for 30 members; understands however that growth is anticipated once staff are able to make a fuller analysis of demand; welcomes the steps being taken to ensure that people on low incomes or affected by poverty can exercise a degree of financial agency while enabling their money to stretch further; hopes that the scheme might be the first of a network across Aberdeen if it proves successful; regrets the circumstances that lead to demand for such services being required, and supports the continued efforts by agencies across Aberdeen to address poverty and its effects on people and their families.
