That the Parliament congratulates Inverclyde Amateur Swimming Club on its recent success at the West District Senior Age Group meet, which was held at Glasgow’s Tollcross International Swimming Centre; acknowledges that nine swimmers won medals during the two-day event, with Aimee Watson and Matthew Garrity winning gold in the 100m and 200m breaststroke; notes that Matthew also won two silver medals in the 200m and 400m freestyle, while Aimee won silver in the 100m butterfly; recognises that club captain, Thomas Cannon, earned a silver medal in the 400m individual medley, and Kian McNeilis won a bronze medal in the 1,500m freestyle; understands that this is a competition for swimmers aged 14 years and above who have met the qualifying times needed to enter; applauds the swimmers for spending their free time collecting items for Compassionate Inverclyde’s Back Home Boxes, which provide essential items for recently discharged hospital patients who live alone; appreciates the swimming club’s efforts both in and out of the pool, and wishes it the best of luck moving forward.
