That the Parliament congratulates the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) on winning the Working Together for Tourism Award at the Scottish Thistle Regional Finals for Central, Fife and Tayside; understands that this award was for the Perth-based, "Paws for a Break" campaign, which aims to show, via its Embrace Scotland website, that taking a self-catering property is the easiest and most flexible way of holidaying with a pet; further understands that VisitScotland research shows that nearly 30% of holidaymakers base their holiday around how suitable a destination is for their pet, and that 72% of dog owners say that they would take more holidays in the UK if there was a better attitude shown towards their pet, thereby demonstrating the economic potential of pet tourism to Scotland, and wishes the ASSC, now in its 40th year, good luck at the Scottish Thistle Awards National Final in March 2019 and in all of its future endeavours.
