Inverclyde Buzz Wins Pollinator Friendly Award

  • Submitted by: Stuart McMillan, Greenock and Inverclyde, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 15 November 2018
  • Motion reference: S5M-14773

That the Parliament congratulates the eco-group, Inverclyde Buzz, on receiving the new joint annual Pollinator Friendly Award from Keep Scotland Beautiful and Scottish Natural Heritage; understands that volunteers, led by the Wemyss Bay beekeeper, Laura Reilly, are transforming the land at Belville Gardens and are aiming to let wildflowers and natural habitat flourish in order to encourage pollinating insects to return; notes that the volunteer group has also been responsible for the creation of the Inverclyde Pollinator Corridor Project, with hopes of renewing local areas with wildflowers, and wishes everyone at Inverclyde Buzz well for the future.
