That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish football legend, Julie Fleeting MBE, on her outstanding achievement in being inducted into the Football Hall of Fame at the 2018 annual dinner at the National Stadium, Hampden Park; considers that Julie, who is originally from Kilwinning, and a teacher at Auchenharvie Academy in Stevenston, is an outstanding footballer and ambassador for Scottish women’s football; recognises that, in her international career, Julie scored 116 international goals, was awarded 121 caps, and captained the national team for eight years; understands that, among her other career achievements, she was the first-ever Scot to play in the professional Women’s United Soccer Association league in the United States, as a player for San Diego Spirit; notes that Julie also played from 2004 to 2012 for Arsenal Ladies, where she scored over 300 goals and helped to win the FA Women's National League, seven FA Women’s Premier League titles, five FA Women’s Cups, three FA Women’s Premier League Cups and the UEFA Women’s Cup, before returning to Scotland to play for Kilwinning Ladies, Celtic Ladies and Glasgow City, with whom she helped to win the Scottish Women’s Cup; thanks Julie for her incredible and inspiring contribution to the sport of women’s football, both in Scotland and worldwide, and wishes her the very best for the future.
