That the Parliament congratulates Doon Valley Amateur Boxing Club on securing £7,044 from sportscotland through the Awards for All Scotland programme to fund its BE-FIT project; understands that the club, based in Dalmellington, will use the money to provide staffing support for the project, which aims to engage whole families for 10 hours a week in exercise and other activities to promote a healthier lifestyle; notes that, in addition, the funds will cover the cost of refitting the club’s toilet to become a wet room with a shower and toilet facilities for disabled members; acknowledges the continuing efforts of Doon Valley Boxing Club to encourage people in the local area to take up a healthy active lifestyle; welcomes this latest development, and wishes the club continued success.
