That the Parliament notes the upcoming first-ever Scottish Youth Brass Band Competition, hosted by the National Mining Museum in Newtongrange, which will take place on 30 June 2018; understands that the event, which is part of the Year of Young People 2018, will showcase bands from across the country; considers that the National Mining Museum is the perfect venue for this, given the rich tradition of colliery bands in former mining heartlands such as Midlothian, and wishes all those taking part the very best of luck.
