That the Parliament congratulates the Executive Committee of the Bangladesh Association Glasgow on celebrating its first year as a committee; understands that the Bangladesh Association Glasgow was established in 1971 during the country’s war of independence; recognises that the association pulls together many different organisations that all work together to represent and promote both Bangladeshi and Scottish culture; notes that in this last year, the Executive Committee has accomplished a number of achievements including celebrating Bangladesh Victory Day at the Parliament for the first time, formally introducing its flagship project, Healthy Living Lifestyle, and supporting the relief efforts after the disastrous flooding in northern Bangladesh in 2017; commends the work of the association for its commitment to supporting Bangladeshis in Scotland and for promoting social cohesion, and wishes all of the Executive Committee members the best of luck throughout the rest of their term.
