That the Parliament commends the Southern Uplands Partnership on being awarded funding from Heritage Lottery Funding Great Place Scheme for two years as part of a £200,000 package to deliver action in the Galloway and Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere; notes that this lottery funding stream is designed to pilot new approaches that enable groups to work more closely with strategic partners by placing heritage at the heart of communities; understands that the partnership will use the grant to employ two project officers and two internships, which will be aimed at young people from the area, to support the communities surrounding the biosphere; believes that they will help the communities develop pride and an understanding of what is special about the area and help them shape its future and promote it, and wishes all involved with the project well with their endeavours.
