10th Anniversary of the Re-opened Stirling-Alloa-Kincardine Service

  • Submitted by: Bruce Crawford, Stirling, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 01 May 2018
  • Motion reference: S5M-12008

That the Parliament notes that 19 May 2018 marks the 10th anniversary of the re-opening of the Stirling-Alloa-Kincardine rail passenger service; considers this to have been a success, with annual passenger numbers each year being more than double the initial estimate of 155,000; believes that it has proved to be a vital transport link, which has brought mutual benefits to communities in Stirling and Clackmannanshire, and looks forward to what it believes will be the improvements to the service that the forthcoming electrification programme will deliver.
