Gemma Lumsdaine Named Angus Sports Personality of the Year

That the Parliament congratulates Gemma Lumsdaine on being named Sports Personality of the Year at the 2018 Angus Sports Awards; notes that Gemma was selected for the GB talent squad, who train with the GB Paralympic Wheelchair Rugby squad and played in the European Select Women’s team at the inaugural Women’s Cup in Paris; understands that Gemma is also part of the Scotland U23 Wheelchair Basketball Squad, as well as assistant coach to the U19 Wheelchair Basketball squad; congratulates the other Angus award winners, Paul Radunski, who won the Sports Personality of the Year Award for People with a Disability, Zoe Rennie, who won the Young Sports Personality of the Year Award, Arbroath Gymnastics Club, which won Club of the Year, Scott Haxton, who won Coach of the Year, Rhona Alston, who won the Service to Sport Award, Johnny Christie, who won Club Volunteer of the Year, Pam Thomson, who won the Outstanding Commitment Award, Forfar Boys FC 2004’s, which won Team of the Year, and Stewart Ferguson, who won School Sports Volunteer of the Year, and welcomes what it sees as the fantastic sporting achievements that have been recognised through these awards.
