  • Submitted by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 14 June 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-06087

That the Parliament congratulates the Forth Valley-based Forth Driving Group, which is part of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), on its success at the recent Hopetoun Horse Driving Trials at which each of its three drivers won red rosettes; notes that Emma Hunter won the Fliskmillan trophy for dressage, Linda Farquhar was the winner in the intermediate class, which means that she has qualified for the 2017 RDA Championships in Gloucestershire in July, Alison Colville's success in the open class means that she will take part in the championships for the second time and that the team also won the David Brown trophy for having the best average score; believes that this success is thanks to hard training, and acknowledges the fundraising over the winter by its dedicated volunteers that made it possible for the group to buy a new carriage.
