  • Motion reference: S5M-05002

That the Parliament commends a group of pupils from Webster’s High School in Kirriemuir on representing Scotland at the 6th annual International Youth Leadership Summit in Virginia, USA in March 2017; recognises that the goal of the summit is to bring together young people from around the world to share perspectives and consider their roles as global citizens; understands that the Angus-based secondary school will be one of over 20 delegations from around the globe, who will explore this year’s theme of shaping the future and building peace within and among nations, and notes that the pupils will hear from guest speakers, Joan Trumpauer Mulholland, an active participant in the American civil rights movement, and Deng Chol, a child refugee of South Sudan during the country's civil war.
