That the Parliament commends Lanarkshire Credit Union for its accreditation as a Living Wage Employer by the Living Wage Foundation; understands that the credit union’s employees, both permanent employees and third-party contractors, will receive a minimum hourly wage of at least £8.45, which is higher than the national minimum wage of £6.95; considers that earning a living wage is essential to the wellbeing and prosperity of workers and families, yet one-in-five people in Scotland do not receive a living wage, and encourages all employers to follow Lanarkshire Credit Union’s example and become accredited as a Living Wage Employer.
