£10,000 Lottery Boost for Rosyth Music Festival

  • Submitted by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 08 February 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-03917

That the Parliament congratulates the organisers of the 2017 PKD Festival on their award of £10,000 of lottery funding; understands that the funds will go towards paying for the stage and outgoings such as security staff for the festival, which will take place at the Rosyth Civil Service Club; notes that it means more money will be going to charity with the proceeds from donations and sponsorship going back to the community of Rosyth; welcomes possible plans to use some of these funds to set up a music trust to help pay for musical instruments for people who cannot afford them, as well as putting some proceeds towards badly-needed youth facilities in the town, and wishes the organisers and participants the very best of luck with the forthcoming event.
