That the Parliament congratulates Wishaw police constables, Fiona Wilson and Susan Rooney, on winning the Team of the Year Award at the Police Scotland Woman’s Development Forum Awards, which were held in September 2016; notes that the two community officers won the accolade following an initiative to break down barriers between the police and the communities of Gowkthrapple and Craigneuk; considers that the initiative has had a positive impact on reducing violence disorder and antisocial behaviour, which had been highlighted as a concern of the local community; recognises that this positive impact was achieved through creating an action group, strengthening partnership working, increasing community confidence and trust and securing funding for activities for local children, and wishes constables Wilson and Rooney, along with everyone at Police Scotland, continued success in improving the relationship between the police and local communities.
