Congratulations to Ayrshire College

That the Parliament congratulates Ayrshire College on winning two awards at the inaugural Diversity Awards, which were held in Glasgow on 13 October 2016; recognises the aim of the ground-breaking This Ayrshire Girl Can campaign, which was initiated by the Student Association and embraced by the college, to break down gender stereotypes and encourage girls and women into what are considered male-dominated sectors, such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM); commends the college’s equalities and inclusion adviser, Sara Turkington, for her innovative and pioneering work in raising awareness and understanding of LGBT issues with partners across Ayrshire, and further commends the college on its strategic commitment to, and action on, equality, diversity and inclusion.
