That the Parliament congratulates the Kirkcudbright Art Gallery Project on securing the necessary funds from the National Lottery, Heritage Lottery Fund and Dumfries and Galloway Council to transform the town hall into an art gallery of national significance; supports the bid to acquire the Galloway Hoard, which is one of Scotland's most important hoards of Viking treasure, for permanent display in the gallery; notes that the gallery will include a cafe and open space for local communities to utilise; further notes that this multi-million pound investment will increase the profile of Kirkcudbright Artists' Town and the wider region of Dumfries and Galloway, and wishes the project every future success.
