That the Parliament congratulates LifeScan Scotland on winning the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) award for excellence in environmental sustainability at the Scottish Council for Development and Industry’s Highlands and Islands Annual Dinner and Business Excellence Awards; understands that, over a period of five years, the company has reduced the amount of waste it sends to landfill by 83%, reduced its CO2 emissions by 24% and reduced its water consumption by 5%; recognises the cost savings and efficiencies that have resulted from this and the positive engagement with staff, and wishes all at LifeScan continued success.
