That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Life and its partners, including Creative Scotland, for organising the Wee Write Family Day at The Mitchell Library on 7 March 2026, an event designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading in children and young people; understands that the day features a wide range of activities, including storytelling sessions, crafts, workshops, and interactive events with acclaimed authors and illustrators, tailored to different age groups from babies to young adults; recognises the importance of such initiatives in encouraging imagination, creativity, literacy and wellbeing in the next generation; notes the outreach programme that brought Wee Write events into local schools, libraries, community facilities and the Emirates Arena, ensuring broad access to the benefits of reading and storytelling, and acknowledges that this celebration of literature builds on the success of Glasgow’s wider literary festivals, including Aye Write, and contributes to Glasgow’s cultural life while fostering positive lifelong learning and enjoyment of books.
