That the Parliament congratulates local businesswoman, Pearl Hamilton, who is retiring from Pearl’s Pet Care in Forres, a business she established 43 years ago and which has welcomed generations of customers to the shop on Tolbooth Street in the Moray town; understands that Pearl built a successful business serving customers from across the local area and the highlands, who appreciate her efforts on their behalf; acknowledges that Pearl, who was born into a crofting family and had her first job aged just 12, has worked hard over many decades serving her local community ensuring that she, in her own words, provides "a warm welcome and memorable experience" to all her customers; recognises that this dedication resulted in her being honoured by being made a Burgess of Forres in 2024; understands that her steadfast determination and commitment to her business was channelled via the Federation of Small Businesses, which she steered in Moray through the economic ups and downs and also contributed to on many occasions at a national level; believes that Pearl is the sort of business owner whose career and achievements we should celebrate, and wishes Pearl well as she charts her retirement, which, it understands, will include spending more time with her family as well as visits to friends that she made with late husband, Jeff, during trips to Forres’ twin town Vienenburg in Germany, where they built twinning links between the two towns that continue to thrive today.
