Elgin Poppy Scotland Appeal Raises Record Funds

That the Parliament congratulates the team at Poppyscotland in Elgin, Moray, for raising the largest ever amount of money during this year's Poppy Appeal; understands that the record sum of £28,230 was collected by volunteers in and around Elgin; believes that special thanks go to members and veterans of the local military community, Police Scotland Youth Volunteers, air and sea cadets and staff and pupils at Gordonstoun School for their efforts, along with Poppyscotland volunteers; acknowledges the part played by many businesses that supported the appeal by placing Poppy Appeal tins in their shops or allowing the Poppy Appeal team to set up stands on their premises; applauds local people and visitors to Elgin for their generous donations and support for such an important charity, and commends the work of everyone who helped to raise this record total and the work that Poppyscotland does in Moray and across Scotland.
