Celebrating National Lottery Community Fund Support for Groups in Strathkelvin and Bearsden

That the Parliament congratulates seven organisations based in the Strathkelvin and Bearsden constituency on securing support through the National Lottery Community Fund in the most recent round of awards; understands that a total of £377,025 in grant aid was received following successful applications from the seven local organisations; commends Families of Auchinairn Coming Together (SCIO) for using its £150,000 share to run an inclusive programme of activities for the whole community living within Auchinairn; praises GRACE (Group Recovery Aftercare Community Enterprise) for its continuing support for people who have suffered life trauma, including its Recovery Life Café which, thanks to £10,000 grant aid, will deliver monthly alcohol-free events supporting better mental health for the local community; applauds Twechar Community Action, which has secured a £150,000 grant to be used to fund a community café worker/activity co-ordinator and a workshop leader/programme developer in Twechar; understands that the excellent social enterprise, Babes in the Wood Bishopbriggs CIC, will make great use of a £17,645 grant to hire a referral support worker to meet the growing demand for free support packs of children's clothing, baby equipment and toys; congratulates East Dunbartonshire Befriending Service on being awarded a £20,000 grant to enable it to continue to run its befriending one-to-ones, as part of group trips and within group events; notes that Caldwell Halls Trust, in the village of Torrance, will use a £10,300 grant to replace its heating system and refurbish a front entrance; congratulates the Trauma Informed Parenting group, which has received £19,080 in grant aid to enable it to run free online classes across Scotland for trauma experienced parents to attend, and sends its very best wishes and thanks to all who give their time, energy and experience in supporting these groups to have an impact in Strathkelvin and Bearsden.
