That the Parliament congratulates Banff & Macduff Men’s Shed on being awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service, which is the highest honour that a local voluntary group can receive, and the equivalent of an MBE; recognises the invaluable contribution that the group makes to the local community, providing a welcoming space for men to gather, share skills and find friendship and purpose; acknowledges the positive impact that the shed has on members’ health and wellbeing through connection, creativity and community involvement; notes that since its establishment in 2018, Banff & Macduff Men’s Shed has gone from strength to strength, offering a range of activities and practical support to local groups and initiatives, and has twice been named Scottish Men’s Shed of the Year, and pays tribute to the dedication, skill and kindness of its members and volunteers, whose efforts, it believes, continue to enrich the lives of many and strengthen community spirit in Banff and Macduff.
