Specialist Care Provider Meallmore Donates £5,000 to Parkinson’s UK and Honouring Two Clackmannanshire Residents.

That the Parliament welcomes the news that the specialist care provider, Meallmore has donated £5,000 to Parkinson’s UK in support of two Clackmannanshire residents, Jack and Margaret Gilchrist, who have a long-standing connection to the charity, during a special event at Parklands Care Home  on Alloa Park Drive in Alloa; understands that Jack and Margaret have supported Parkinson’s UK for many years with Jack serving as treasurer for the Stirling and Clackmannanshire branch of the charity, which is a role that he was nominated for by one of the charity’s founding members; understands that around 13,000 people have a diagnosis of Parkinson's in Scotland, and half of these are people living with a more advanced form of the condition, dealing with complex symptoms; commends Parkinson’s UK for what it sees as its excellent work across the country; believes that this donation will further help the charity in its mission to be there for every Parkinson’s journey; commends Meallmore, which operates 27 care homes across Scotland, including Parklands Care Home; notes that this home provides care for older people, including those living with dementia; commends Meallmore on its highly magnanimous donation, and further commends the highly diligent and dedicated work of Jack and Margaret Gilchrist in support of Stirling and Clackmannanshire Parkinson's UK.
