Celebrating Scottish Environment LINK Reaching 50 Member Organisations

That the Parliament congratulates Scottish Environment LINK on reaching the milestone of 50 member organisations in July 2025; recognises what it sees as the important role Scottish Environment LINK has played since its founding in 1987 by 14 environmental bodies, including RSPB Scotland, National Trust for Scotland, WWF and Badenoch and Strathspey Conservation Group; commends Scottish Environment LINK’s continued commitment to bringing together organisations across Scotland to coordinate effective advocacy and action on nature, land reform, marine protection, biodiversity, sustainable economics, and more; acknowledges that Scottish Environment LINK’s members collectively represent around half a million supporters, making it one of the most significant environmental networks in the country; celebrates Scottish Environment LINK’s achievements in influencing key pieces of Scottish legislation, including the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010, and the Circular Economy (Scotland) Act 2024; welcomes LINK’s longstanding support for inclusive, informed policy through campaigns such as “Save Scottish Seas”, “Fight for Scotland’s Nature”, and “Scotland Loves Nature”; notes Scottish Environment LINK’s role in fostering alliances, launching new organisations like the Environmental Rights Centre for Scotland, and supporting over 175 MSPs to become nature champions, and wishes Scottish Environment LINK and its member organisations continued success in advocating for a flourishing natural environment for all.
