That the Parliament congratulates Highgate Care Home in Uddingston on being named the Scottish finalist in HC-One’s Gardens in Bloom competition; understands that the annual event encourages care homes across the UK to be creative with their outdoor spaces, highlighting the benefits of gardening while fostering community connections and promoting sustainability; notes that the home's flourishing space includes raised flower beds, wildlife-friendly features and seasonal decorations, with a strong focus on sustainability through recycled plant pots, peat-free soil and daily watering; further notes that residents played a key role in designing, planting and adding ornaments to encourage conversation and memories; recognises the true community effort behind the project, with support from groups such as Uddingston Grows and pupils from Tannochside Primary School, who visited weekly to plant seeds, paint pots and help maintain the garden; applauds this collective achievement, which it believes fosters creativity, sustainability and teamwork, with every flower, ornament and painted pot representing memories, friendship and community spirit; notes that, as the Scottish finalist, the home received a prize hamper with a plaque and gardening tools, among other gifts, and wishes Highgate Care Home every success as residents and staff continue to enjoy their new vibrant and inclusive outdoor space.
