That the Parliament welcomes the introduction of Firework Control Zones in Glasgow, including in Broomhouse, Govanhill and Pollokshields, which will prohibit the private use of fireworks between 1 and 10 November each year; notes that these measures, enabled by the Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles (Scotland) Act 2022, aim to improve public safety, reduce antisocial behaviour, and minimise harm to people, animals, and the environment; further notes what it sees as the strong public support for these zones, following consultation with local communities and emergency services; calls for the zones to be monitored for effectiveness and for clear, timely communication to residents to ensure proper enforcement, and encourages other local authorities to consider similar measures where appropriate.
