That the Parliament congratulates North Lanarkshire Archives on officially meeting the UK standard for managing and sharing historical records, as confirmed by the Archive Service Accreditation Panel; notes that the Archives, including what it sees as a significant collection held in Motherwell, contain important documents dating from the 1500s to the present day, preserving a rich and diverse history; recognises that the Archive Service Accreditation is supported by key organisations, including the National Records of Scotland, the National Archives, the Scottish Council on Archives and the Welsh Government; commends the Archive staff for their dedication to maintaining and providing access to what it believes are these invaluable historical resources, and encourages continued support for the preservation of Scotland’s documentary heritage.
