That the Parliament notes the news that several parks and gardens in Aberdeen, including Seaton Park and Victoria Park in Aberdeen Central, have been given the Green Flag Award; further notes that Duthie Park has been awarded Green Heritage Site status, in celebration of its historical and cultural significance alongside its environmental beauty; understands that the Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well managed parks and green spaces; further understands that it sets the benchmark standard for the management of recreational outdoor spaces across the UK and around the world, in an effort to achieve a number of aims, which include promoting and sharing good practice amongst the green space sector; notes that the Green Heritage Site accreditation acknowledges parks that excel as guardians of history; believes that these accolades will stand Aberdeen in good stead in the 2025 Britain in Bloom competition; congratulates the volunteers, gardeners and greenkeepers whose hard work and efforts keep Aberdeen’s green spaces looking beautiful, and hopes that their efforts will be rewarded when the Britain in Bloom judges visit Aberdeen in August.
