Nepal Indigenous Film Festival 2025

That the Parliament notes the first-ever Nepal Indigenous Film Festival, which was held in Edinburgh on 19 July 2025; understands that the event, which was organised by the Nepal Scotland Association, was held at North Edinburgh Arts and celebrated the culture, creativity and heritage of Nepal’s indigenous communities; acknowledges the attendance of the Nepalese Ambassador to Britain, His Excellency Chandra Kumar Ghimire; notes that awards were given out during the event, recognising excellence in Nepalese filmmaking, including Best Director, Best Script and Best Main Stream Movie based on an indigenous subject; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of cultural exchange, and the importance of recognising indigenous and diverse art; thanks all those who performed at the event; congratulates those who won prizes, and wishes the Nepal Scotland Association well.
