Congratulations to Canon Patrick O’Sullivan on the 70th Anniversary of His Ordination

That the Parliament congratulates Canon Patrick O’Sullivan, a retired priest of the Diocese of Motherwell, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood; notes that Canon O’Sullivan was ordained in 1955 and faithfully served as Assistant Priest at St Peter’s in Hamilton, All Saints in Coatdyke and St Mary’s in Whifflet, before becoming Parish Priest of St John Ogilvie’s in Blantyre and subsequently St Andrew’s in Airdrie, from where he retired in 2008; recognises that, in retirement, he continued to be a valued presence within the Church community while living at St Mary’s in Whifflet, and now resides in Summerlee Care Home; gives thanks for his lifetime of dedicated priestly ministry and service to the Catholic community, and extends its warmest wishes and prayers to Canon O’Sullivan as he celebrates this remarkable milestone.
